Second half surge helps #8 Lady Eagles past #15 Bloomsburg, 10-5

No. 8 Lock Haven rallies for nine second half goals as Lady Eagles drop #15 Bloomsburg, 10-5 in PSAC battle

Box Score LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The No. 8 Lock Haven University lacrosse team (6-2, 3-1 PSAC) used a nine-goal surge in the second half to rally past No. 15 Bloomsburg University (6-3, 4-1 PSAC) for a huge 10-5 PSAC win today at home.
 
The Lady Eagles trailed 3-1 at half, but exploded for nine second-half goals on the way to the important conference and regional win.
 
Jessica Pandolf (Holbrook, N.Y./Sachem North), Lindsay Walbrandt (Telford, Pa./Souderton) and Kelly Hamilton (Warrington, Pa./Central Bucks South) all recorded hat tricks in the win.
 
Taylor Klunk (Forest Hill, Md./Bel Air) also scored for Lock Haven.
 
Chelsea Borrino (Webster, N.Y./Webster Thomas), who was named the PSAC Player of the Week earlier today for her efforts during Lock Haven's perfect 3-0 week, last week, was at it again today.
 
Borrino dished out a game-high four assists, while both Pandolf and Walbrandt both recorded one.
 
As a team, Lock Haven was credited with eight caused turnovers, including three from Pandolf, who did it all today.
 
Walbrandt also had a strong all-around effort, scoring her first three goals of the season. All four of her points game in the final 14 minutes of the game as she completely took over the game late, helping seal the win for LHU. Walbrandt also had three ground balls and a late-game draw control, which was key.
 
Haven goalie Chrissy Baffuto (Long Valley, N.J./West Morris Central) looked strong throughout and made nine saves in the win.
 
LHU struck first as Pandolf made it 1-0 less than four minutes into the game.
 
Bloomsburg held The Haven's potent attack scoreless however for the remainder of the first half and led, 3-1 at the break.
 
Again, Lock Haven struck early in the second on a goal from Hamilton.
 
After Bloomsburg took a 4-2 lead with 20:08 left in the game, Lock Haven rattled off four straight to take command.
 
With 10:32 left Bloomsburg struck for the final time, cutting the LHU lead to 6-5.
 
It was all Lock Haven down the stretch however, as the Lady Eagles closed the game on a four-goal run to pull away for the thrilling comeback win.
 
Lock Haven returns to action on Saturday, April 5 at 1 p.m. when the Lady Eagles take on rival and No. 13 West Chester.
