Box Score LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The No. 8 Lock Haven University lacrosse team extended its win streak to 11 games with a 16-4 win over PSAC foe Shippensburg.
Lock Haven (13-2, 9-1 PSAC) overcame a slow start and the Lady Eagles remained perfect at home, moving to 7-0 on the season. Lock Haven hasn't lost since March 23 at nationally-ranked IUP.
After a sluggish start, Lock Haven got things rolling and led Shippensburg (7-8, 4-6 PSAC) 10-1 at the break. Ship took the 1-0 lead less than four minutes in, but the Lady Eagles rolled from there.
LHU outshot Shippensburg 35-11 and got four goals apiece from both
Jessica Pandolf (Holbrook, N.Y./Sachem North) and
Kelly Hamilton (Warrington, Pa./Central Bucks South).
Jenna Dingler (Turnersville, N.J./Washington Township) added three goals as one of six Lock Haven goal scorers on the day.
Chelsea Borrino (Webster, N.Y./Webster Thomas) finished with six assists and
Shannon Bissnette (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford) finished with three helpers. Bissnette also added a goal.
Hope Thomas (Carmel, Ind./Carmel) and
Rachel Ward (Indianapolis/Bishop Chatard) each scored twice.
Christina Hawkins (Havre de Grace, Md./Havre de Grace) led the dominating defensive charge with three caused turnovers and four ground balls.
With today's win, Lock Haven officially clinched a PSAC playoff berth and thanks to an IUP loss at West Chester today – the Lady Eagles sit atop the conference standings in first place.
Lock Haven returns to action on Wednesday, April 13 vs. Kutztown at home (4 p.m.). The Lady Eagles close out the 2014 regular season at home next Saturday (April 26) at 1 p.m. vs. Slippery Rock on Senior Day.
