#7 Lacrosse blanks Kutztown 17-0, wins 12th straight game

No. 7 Lock Haven records first shutout in 19 years

Box Score LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Jessica Pandolf (Holbrook, N.Y./Sachem North) and Kelly Hamilton (Warrington, Pa./Central Bucks South) led the Lady Eagles past visiting Kutztown University, 17-0.
 
Lock Haven (14-2, 10-1 PSAC) got goals from eight different players and led 10-0 at the break, as the Lady Eagles powered past Kutztown (4-11, 2-9 PSAC), 17-0 in conference action.
 
Pandolf continued to lead the Haven with four goals, two assists, and five groundballs.  She controlled the game with a game-high seven draw controls. 
 
Hamilton recorded a hat trick, while Rachel Ward (Indianapolis, Indiana/Bishop Chatard) and Jenna Dingler (Turnersville, N.J./Washington Township) added two goals.
 
Senior Chelsea Borrino (Webster, N.Y./Webster Thomas) and freshman Shannon Bissnette (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Sutherland) were a force to be reckoned with, dishing out a combined eight assists.
 
Chrissy Baffuto (Long Valley, N.J./West Morris Central) started in goal for The Haven and recorded three saves in the win.
 
The Haven defensive unit was flawless, causing eight turnovers and 16-16 in clear attempts.  LHU held Kutztown to just seven shots on goal in 60 minutes of action. 
 
Today's shutout was the first for Lock Haven in over 19 years. The Lady Eagles last shutout game was on April 12, 1995 when LHU beat Susquehanna 15-0.
 
Earlier today, the NCAA released its most recent NCAA Division II Regional Rankings and the Lady Eagles were ranked No. 4 in the South Region – up two spots from a week ago. Limestone remains the top team in the South, followed by No. 2 Lindenwood and No. 3 Pfeiffer. Adelphi holds the top-spot in the North Region, followed by LIU Post, New Haven and Le Moyne.
 
The top four spots from each region at the end of the regular season will earn a bid to the 2014 NCAA Tournament.
 
Lock Haven closes out the 2014 regular season at home on Saturday, April 26 when the Lady Eagles celebrate Senior Day vs. Slippery Rock at 1 p.m.
