MILLERSVILLE, PA. – The Lock Haven University volleyball team (6-3, 1-1 PSAC) went 1-1 today in PSAC Crossover action – downing IUP, before dropping five-set thriller to Clarion.
Lock Haven (6-3, 1-1 PSAC) opened PSAC play with a 3-0 (25-14, 25-12, & 25-22) win over IUP and The Haven fell to Clarion (9-0, 1-0 PSAC) 3-2 (17-25, 25-22, 15-25, 25-19, & 6-15).
With tonight's win over IUP, LHU head coach
Dan Kreiger reached his 100
th career win. Coach Kreiger is now 100-116 overall and 53-28 in his third season at LHU.
Leading the way in the win over IUP was
Cody Anderson (Johnsonburg, Pa./Johnsonburg) with a game-high 17 kills and recorded a .412 hitting-percentage.
Freshman
Sarah Gomish (Ebensburg, Pa./Bishop Carroll) added eight kills.
Jessica Brown (Fawn Grove, Pa./Kennard-Dale) paced the offense with 31 assists.
Sydney Belcastro (Pittsburgh/Hopewell) and
Annie Dombrowski (Altoona, Pa./Bishop Guilfoyle) led LHU with 15 and 10 digs, respectively.
Kaleigh Hudak (Bethlehem, Pa./Freedom High) and
Megan Flick (Howard, Pa./Bald Eagle) led LHU in the loss against Clarion with 13 and 10 kills, respectively.
Brown dished out 45 assists.
Belcastro led LHU with 22 digs and
Bethany Burns (Erie, Pa./McDowell) added 12.
The Lady Eagles are right back at it tomorrow (Saturday, Oct. 20) vs. Seton Hill (12:30 p.m.) and California (Pa.) (3:30 p.m.).
