LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University men's soccer team (4-2-1, 3-1 PSAC) dropped its first Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) match of the season as rival East Stroudsburg (2-5-1, 1-3 PSAC) edged the Bald Eagles, 2-1 this evening at Hubert Jack Stadium.

After a scoreless first half, ESU went up 1-0 in the 49
th minute when Enrique Ruiz's long throw in from 20 yards out took an awkward bonce in traffic four yards from the goal line and found the back of the net.

The Warriors made it 2-0 in the 56
th minute on a goal by Jonathan Stuppe.

The Bald Eagles rallied and pushed the pace late. They were rewarded in the 76
th minute after a perfect cross from
Colt Brackbill (Juniata, Pa./Juniata) found
Jesse Smith (Waynesboro, Pa./Waynesboro), who fired into an open net.

Despite several good chances for LHU to tie late, ESU escaped with its first conference win of the season.

LHU returns to action on Tuesday, September 30 at 2 p.m. when the Bald Eagles host Shepherd in non-conference action.
