SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Lock Haven University women's basketball team (6-11, 5-8 PSAC) fell to Shippensburg University (12-7, 8-5 PSAC) tonight on the road, 70-58.
Leading the Lady Eagles tonight was senior
Marrysa Moyer (Altoona, Pa./Mansfield Univ.) with another double-double this season. Moyer netted 13 points and grabbed 12 boards in 32 minutes of action. Moyer shot 4-of-6 from the free throw line to spark the Haven attack.
After recording just 7 field points in the first half LHU trailed at the break, 38-17. The lady Eagles rallied with 41 points but the Red Raiders proved to be too much down the stretch at Shippensburg sealed a, 70-58 victory.
Rachael McDaniel (Plainfield, N.J./California (Pa.) Univ.) and Kirst Bair (Leesport, Pa./Schuylkill Valley) netted nine and eight points, respectively.
Emily Daugherty (Laughlintown, Pa./Ligonier Valley) added eight points and grabbed six boards in 31 minutes of action.
LHU shot 86.7% from the free throw line and netted 24 bench points.
Morgan Griffith led Shippensburg with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
The Lady Eagles host Bloomsburg University on the PSECU Court at Thomas Fieldhouse Saturday (January 24). Tipoff is set for 2 p.m.
