LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University men's basketball team (3-8, 3-4 PSAC) fell to California (Pa.) (9-4, 5-3 PSAC), 78-56 in a PSAC crossover matchup at PSECU Court at Thomas Fieldhouse.
Wali Hepburn (Philadelphia/Neumann-Goretti) led the Bald Eagles with 17 points and he added six rebounds and four assists.
Sophomore forward
Ra'eese Hunt (Upper Marlboro, Md./Riverdale Baptist) scored a career high 13 points on the day, 11 of which came in the opening period.
Nate Walters (Reedsville, Pa./Indian Valley) and
Al Blount (Northampton, Pa./Bethlehem Catholic) scored nine points each.
Walters pulled down a team-high eight rebounds and added four steals.
Lock Haven trailed by just five, 43-38 at halftime, but The Haven struggled to find its offense in the second half.
Richard Smith scored 12 points and grabbed 16 rebounds to lead The Vulcans.
Lock Haven is right back in action tomorrow (Sunday, January 4) when the Bald Eagles host Slippery Rock University in a PSAC matchup. Tipoff is set for 3 p.m.
