Men’s Soccer rolls to 4-1 victory over Pitt-Johnstown

The LHU men’s soccer team got goals from four different players as the Bald Eagles rolled to another important PSAC victory.

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University men's soccer team (6-5-1, 5-2-0 PSAC) continued their success over PSAC competitors with a decisive 4-1 victory over Pitt-Johnstown (1-11-0, 0-7-0 PSAC) today on the road.

Tyler Sablyak (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks West) kicked off the scoring just 3:42 into the first half.

Adding to his team leading total in goals, Troy Amspacher (Lancaster, Pa./Conestoga Valley) would net his sixth at 22:09 to put the Bald Eagles up by two.  The shot found its way inside the far post past Mountain Cats' netminder Nate Kleya.

A goal from Brandon Robinson would cut the lead in half at 62:14 of the second frame.  Robinson's goal came from a corner kick and was put behind LHU goalkeeper Troy Teresak (Pompton Plains, N.J./DePaul Catholic).

Shortly after, Jacob Oldaker (Elliottsburg, Pa./West Perry) restored the two goal lead with his third of the 2015 campaign.  At 72:26, Oldaker received a crossing pass inside the middle of the box and put the visiting team up 3-1.  He led all participants with six shots on the afternoon.
Asher Klahold (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) was credited with the assist.

Zach Hommey (Woodsboro, Md./Walkersville) concluded the goal scoring outburst with his fourth of the season, assisted by Colt Brackbill (Juniata, Pa./Juniata).  The sophomore's finish came from inside the middle of the box.

The four goal output is tied for the most the Bald Eagles have scored in a game this season and is the second time they have done so (Sep. 26 vs. East Stroudsburg).

Teresak played 70 plus minutes and made three saves.  Jonathan Howitt (Painted Post, N.Y./Corning-Painted Post East) appeared for nearly 20 minutes and made one save.  Kleya stopped four shots in the losing effort.

LHU returns to action on Wednesday, October 14 at 4 p.m. on the road at West Virginia Wesleyan.
