EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – The Lock Haven University volleyball team (12-8, 4-5 PSAC) came from behind today to pick up the 3-2 (25-18, 23-25, 22-25, 25-16, 15-13) victory over East Stroudsburg University (6-13, 1-8 PSAC) in thrilling fashion.
Heading into the fifth set tied at two apiece, the Bald Eagles completed the comeback outscoring ESU 15-13 for their fourth win in their last five contests.
Megan Flick (Howard, Pa./Bald Eagle) and
Sarah Gomish (Edensburg, Pa./Bishop Carroll) led Lock Haven's attack with 20 and 16 kills, respectively.
Flick also hit a team best .425, picked up 12 digs, and assisted on three blocks.
Freshman
Brittany Moyer (Orwigsburg, Pa./Blue Mountain) added 14 kills on 51 total attacks and served one ace.
Sydney Belcastro (Aliquippa, Pa./Hopewell) racked up 30 digs and two assists.
Jessica Brown (Fawn-Grove, Pa./Kennard-Dale) led the team with 28 assists and had 15 digs.
Defensively, Lock Haven's
Gabrielle Stick (Reading, Pa./Exeter Township) led the team with four assisted blocks.
LHU hit .243 in the first set, .206 in the forth and .250 in the final frame to come out victorious in a challenging match on the road.
Lock Haven will play host to PSAC Crossover action next Friday and Saturday, October 16-17. In all, the Bald Eagles will host four home matches starting with Seton Hill on Friday at 11:30 a.m. Check
