LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University volleyball team opened Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division action tonight at home with a 3-2 loss to Shippensburg.
Lock Haven (8-7, 1-4 PSAC) loss to Shippensburg (12-4, 3-2 PSAC) 12-25, 25-22, 20-25, 25-18 and 15-10.
The Bald Eagles hit .319 in the opening set, helping them win 25-12, but Shippensburg battled back in a big way.
Leading the way for LHU was
Sarah Gomish (Ebensburg, Pa./Bishop Carroll) , who tallied a match-high 18 kills.
Brittany Moyer (Orwigsburg, Pa./Blue Mountain) knocked down 14 kills, while
Megan Flick (Howard, Pa./Bald Eagle) dropped 11 and
Gabrielle Stick (Reading, Pa./Exeter Township) added 10.
Stick hit a match-best .318.
Sydney Belcastro (Aliquippa, Pa./Hopewell) recorded 41 digs and
Jessica Brown (Fawn Grove, Pa./Kennard-Dale) dished out 38 assists.
Lock Haven returns to action tomorrow (Saturday, October 3) at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. vs. Millersville and Alderson Broaddus, respectively.
