SAINT LOUIS – The Lock Haven University field hockey team (15-4, 3-4 A-10) lost 2-1 on the road today at Saint Louis University (1-16, 1-6 A-10) in Atlantic 10 Conference (A-10) action.
Rachel Valentine (Souderton, Pa./Souderton) scored Lock Haven's goal as LHU led 1-0 at halftime, but Saint Louis scored two second-half goals to earn the victory.
Valentine put Lock Haven up 1-0 10:32 into the game when she split the defense and darted toward the goal - one-on-one with Saint Louis goalkeeper Tori Westhead. Valentine tucked the ball by Westhead for her team-best 13
th goal of the 2015 campaign.
Saint Louis tied the game in the 39
th minute and notched the game-winner in the 41
st.
Lock Haven will close out the 2015 regular season at home next Sunday, November 1 (noon) with an important conference clash with Virginia Commonwealth University.
