Harris rushes for 200 yards:
Listed as the No. 2 running back for most of the season, Malyk Harris made the most of his first career start in Week 8 at Millersville. The junior rushed for 200 yards and two TDs on 28 carries. Last second heroics:
Lock Haven topped Millersville thanks to some last second heroics that saw the Bald Eagles score 12 points in the final two seconds of the game. Facing a 3rd and 10 from the Millersville 11, third-string QB Cameron Tobias threw a TD pass to TE Del'Vaughn Dennis, who hauled in the deflected pass – tip-toeing to get his feet down for the go-ahead TD. The Bald Eagles returned the ensuing kick as well for a TD.

PSAC Offensive Player of the Week:
On Sunday, October 18, redshirt-junior quarterback Caleb Walton was named the PSAC East Offensive Player of the Week. For the second straight week, Walton put up monster numbers, accounting for five total touchdowns, all while helping the Bald Eagles to their first win of the 2015 season. In Saturday's 56-20 win over Cheyney Walton threw for 342 yards and matched his career-high with four TD passes. He was 18 of 24 with no interceptions. Walton also rushed for one touchdown.Walton's four TD passes added to his career total, which is already second-best in school history at 41. His 342 yards passing also pushed him into second all-time with 5,013 passing yards.

Offense clicking on all cylinders:
Lock Haven's 590 yards of total offense in the win over Cheyney (Week 7, October 17) are the second-most ever recorded in a single game. The school record is 729 yards vs. California (Pa.) back in 1994.

Points on the board:
Lock Haven's 56 points scored in the Week 7 (October 17) win over Cheney mark Lock Haven's most points scored in game since LHU beat Edinboro, 56-21 in 1968.

  • LHU scored 59 points in 1947 (Won, 59-0 vs. Alliance).
  • LHU scored 65 points in 1931 (Won, 65-0 vs. Kutztown).

30 or more:
The 2015 season marks the first time LHU has scored 30+ points in four games during a season since the Bald Eagles did it in 1979. Lock Haven went 9-2 (6-0 PSAC West) in 1979 on the way to the PSAC title. LHU scored 30 or more points five times, all wins during that '79 season.

  • Caleb Walton's 370 passing yards were a new career high and marked the first time in his career he threw for over 300.

Redshirt-junior QB Caleb Walton's success under center is no longer a secret after he led Lock Haven's offense for the second straight season last year. Last season he threw for 2,164 yards and 15 TDs. He became the first Bald Eagle quarterback since 1995 to throw for over 2,000 yards in a season. It's just the seventh time in school history where a Lock Haven quarterback has surpassed the 2,000-yard passing mark in a single season.

New Era:
The loss to Clarion in the 2015 opener spoiled Dave Taynor's Bald Eagle debut.

Taynor was hired as the 24th head football coach in school history in April (2015). Taynor comes to LHU after seven seasons at his alma mater – Urbana. Under his guidance, the Blue Knights enjoyed the five most successful seasons in school history from 2009-2013 and he's the winningest coach in the school's history. Known for his offensive mind and high-flying attack, Taynor's Urbana teams broke over 50 offensive school records from 2008-2014.

The Week 7 win over Cheyney on Homecoming marked Dave Taynor's first win at Lock Haven.

Taynor at LHU (2-6)

LHU first-year head coach Dave Taynor has assembled a top-notch staff. As a whole, the staff has a strong resume including 21 conference championships, two NCAA Division I Bowl Games, two NCAA National Championships, nearly 500 All-Conference players and 28 All-Americans.

Defense a strength:
Last year marked Randi Moore's first season as the Bald Eagles' defensive coordinator and he made an immediate impact as Lock Haven's defense was key all year long. LHU forced at least one turnover in all, but one game last season. LHU ranked seventh in the PSAC in interceptions (11) and eighth in total pass defense. The Bald Eagles return four of their top-five tacklers from last season, including Daniel Strawbridge (CB) and Tony Ballon (LB).

Experienced O-Line:
What was a young offensive line in 2014 is now an experienced one as the Bald Eagles will be aided by all five starting offensive linemen returning for this season. Leading the way is senior-center Luke Erdman, who has 30 career starts under his belt entering the season – the fifth-most among all active PSAC players. In all Luke Erdman (11), Austin Heinbaugh (10), Shane Rafter (9), Nick Mayer (8) Chris Bonk (7) and Ryan Fink (5) combined for 50 starts a year ago on the offensive line.

Making The East home:
The 2015 season marks Lock Haven's third in the PSAC East. LHU enters the 2015 season 4-10 vs. PSAC East opponents in its first two seasons in Eastern Division play.

Moving forward:
Since Lock Haven won the 2012 season-finale vs. Cheyney – a win that snapped a 52-game losing streak - LHU has gone 5-17. LHU was 2-9 last season and 3-8 in 2013.
