Lock Haven Athletics: Performance Programming
MISSION
To provide all student-athletes with educational programming, counseling and support to enhance their academic and athletic performance while preparing them for life. Athletic Department Performance Programming will be focused on holistic development and enhancing excellence within student-athlete athletic and academic performance, personal skills, career and leadership advancement, social responsibility and community engagement.
VISION
Provide support and services to Lock Haven student-athletes to enhance academic, athletic and personal excellence.
OVERVIEW
In the fall of 2021, Lock Haven University formally organized its Athletic Department Performance Programming, which will serve and support over 475 student-athletes who compete in 21 varsity sports. Performance programs will be offered throughout the year in collaboration with the Lock Haven Student Success Center, Residence Life, the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and the Center for Career and Professional Development as well as by a group of dedicated, expert faculty and staff members who volunteer their time and expertise. Providing student-athletes with the essential skills, knowledge, resources, and tools through Athletic Department Performance Programming will assist them in addressing their performance-related issues, academic concerns, or other challenges while striving for academic, athletic and personal excellence.
PERFORMANCE PROGRAMMING AND SERVICES OFFERED (Include but are not limited to)
In collaboration with the Success Center, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Office, Residence Life Office, and Career Services the athletic department will provide Performance Programming throughout the year via team presentations, interactive modules, video clips and poster promotions. Student athletes may also request one-on-one consultation with a specialist to address their specific needs by contacting one of the following members of the Performance Programming Executive Board.
