LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University men's basketball team (6-2, 2-2 PSAC) won its fourth consecutive game tonight, as the Bald Eagles downed Mansfield (2-6, 0-4 PSAC) 83-72 in a PSAC East clash at Thomas Fieldhouse.
Lock Haven came out of the gates hitting on all cylinders and the Bald Eagles held a convincing 50-38 lead at the half.
Al Blount (Allentown, Pa./Bethlehem Catholic) was huge in the first half, shooting a perfect 4 for 4 from three-point-land. As a team, LHU shot 64.5% from the field in the period.
The Bald Eagles never trailed in the game and forced 20 MU turnovers on the way to the win.
Blount finished with 18 points and was 5 for 7 from three.
Brahieme Jackson (Philadelphia/Bishop McDevitt) added 18 points of his own and pulled down seven rebounds.
Shawn Church (Ridley, Pa./Ridley) had a remarkable game off the bench for The Haven. Church scored 15 points, including a monster tip-slam in the first half that ignited The Haven faithful. He added seven rebounds and three assists in the win.
Tracy Peal (Wilmington, Del./Archbishop John Carroll) and
Bootsie Walker (Chester, Pa./Chester) chipped in with 10 and nine points, respectively.
Mansfield was led by Thomas Moore's 18 points.
The Bald Eagles return to action this Friday, when LHU hosts Gannon at Thomas Fieldhouse. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
