Bald Eagles run win streak to 5 with thrilling victory over Gannon

The LHU men’s basketball team picked up its first win over Gannon in over two decades, running the Bald Eagles win streak to five games.

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University men's basketball team (7-2, 3-2 PSAC) picked up its fifth straight win in thrilling fashion, as the Bald Eagles dominated visiting Gannon University (2-5, 1-4 PSAC) on the way to 68-60 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) win.
 
The win marked LHU's first over Gannon in over 25 years and pushed LHU's win streak to five games. The Bald Eagles have also won three straight conference games and sit at 3-2 heading into tomorrow's game with Clarion.

Al Blount (Allentown, Pa./Bethlehem Catholic) led the way for LHU night. He knocked down three 3-pointers and was 4 of 5 from the free-throw stripe on the way to 15 points.

Shawn Church (Ridley, Pa./Ridley) netted nine points and electrified the home crowd in the second half with a monster slam.

Bootsie Walker (Chester, Pa./Chester) chipped in with nine points and both Tracy Peal (Wilmington, Del./Archbishop Carroll), and Brahieme Jackson (Philadelphia/Bishop McDevitt) scored eight points.

Peal led LHU with five rebounds and Church paced The Haven with five assists.  

Lock Haven led 37-29 after an entertaining opening half of basketball and the second half certainly didn't disappoint as both teams' defensive units stepped up, and each team hit key shots down the stretch.

The Bald Eagles shot 53 percent from the field for the game and connected on 12 of 19 free-throw attempts.
 
LHU is right back at it tomorrow (Saturday, December 5) when the Bald Eagles host Clarion University at 4 p.m.
