LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University women's basketball team (4-6, 2-5 PSAC) rallied in the second half, but it wasn't enough as the Bald Eagles fell to visiting Kutztown University (6-3, 4-3 PSAC), 71-58 tonight in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East action.
Offensively, three different players scored in double-figures, including
Mackenzie Livingston (Blairsville, Pa./IUP), who netted a team-high 14 points.
Lysa Mealing (Altoona, Pa./Altoona) and
Rachael McDaniel (Plainfield, N.J./California (Pa.) Univ.) both scored 10 points apiece.
Mealing, one of the nation's top rebounders had another monster game. She finished with a game-high 15 rebounds on the way to her fourth double-double of the season.
Loren Kaiser (Bethlehem, Pa./Pace Univ.) added six points, three rebounds and two assists.
Kutztown was led by four players in double figures including Jenna Altomare, who knocked down 4 of 6 shots from 3-point range on the way to a game-high 16 points.
Kutztown led 34-23 at halftime and the Golden Bears held strong down the stretch.
The Bald Eagles host Millersville University on Saturday, December 19 at 2 p.m.
