Men’s Hoops falls to Bloom in regular season finale; LHU to face Millersville in PSAC Quarterfinals

Bald Eagles travel to Millersville on Saturday for PSAC Quarterfinal

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. –The Lock Haven University men's basketball team (10-16, 10-12 PSAC) fell on the road to Bloomsburg University (10-16, 6-16 PSAC), 94-71 tonight in LHU's final regular season game of the year.
 
The Bald Eagles find themselves locked into the No. 5 seed in the PSAC Eastern Division after tonight's games and will travel to No. 4 seed Millersville on Saturday for the first round of the PSAC Playoffs.
 
Eleven different Lock Haven players scored in tonight's game.
 
Bootsie Walker (Chester, Pa./Chester) led the Bald Eagles with 19 points and eight rebounds.  He scored all 19 of his points in the first half.
 
Ra'eese Hunt (Upper Marlboro, Md./Riverdale Baptist) netted 10 points and grabbed five rebounds off the LHU bench.
 
For the second consecutive year, Wali Hepburn (Philadelphia/Neumann-Goretti) finished the regular season as the PSAC scoring champion. Hepburn finished with eight points tonight, bringing his regular season average to 19.3 points per game.
 
The Bald Eagles trailed by just one, 47-46 at the halftime break, but LHU shot just 29% (9-for-31) from the field in the second half.  Bloomsburg outscored The Haven, 47-25 in the period.
 
Jon Riles led Bloomsburg on the night with 28 points.
 
Saturday will mark the second straight season which culminated in a PSAC playoff appearance for LHU.  Lock Haven last made the PSAC playoffs in consecutive seasons during the 1989-90 seasons.
 
Saturday's (Feb. 28) PSAC Quarterfinal will be a rematch of last season's PSAC Quarterfinal.  Lock Haven fell to Millersville in last year's matchup, 81-75 at home.  Tipoff on Saturday from Millersville is set for 3 p.m.
