LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University women's basketball was edged 53-50 at home today by Mansfield University in a PSAC East thriller that came down the wire.
Lock Haven (7-14, 6-11 PSAC East) was led by
J.J. Hilliard (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty), who netted a team-high 13 points and grabbed five rebounds.
Kirsti Bair (Leesport, Pa./Schuylkill Valley) added eights point and two blocks, while
Marrysa Moyer (Altoona, Pa./Mansfield Univ.) grabbed nine rebounds and two blocks.
Emily Daugherty (Laughlinton, Pa./Ligonier Valley) was also strong on the glass and finished with eight rebounds.
Emily James (Mansfield, Pa./Mansfield) was a huge second-spark for Lock Haven and hit a pair of key 3-pointers down the stretch for The Haven.
Mansfield (3-19, 2-16 PSAC East) was led by Brielle Kelly's game-high 21 points. Tianna Jackson chipped in with 16.
Today's game was televised live on My TV – WQMY, which serves 17 counties in Central and Northeast Pennsylvania. A rebroadcast is set for tomorrow (Sunday, February 8) at 12 p.m. on My TV – WQMY. The game will also be rebroadcasted on The Comcast Network (TCN) on Thursday, February 12 at 9 p.m.
Today's game marked the first of three straight at home for the Lady Eagles, who host Kutztown on Wednesday, February 11 at 5:30 p.m.
