MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Lock Haven University baseball team (0-5) fell to Pfeiffer University (13-9), 9-5 tonight at the Ripken Experience Complex in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

LHU led, 3-2 in the late in the ball game, but Pfeiffer rallied with a seven-run eighth inning to secure the win.

The Bald Eagles got off to a hot start tonight when
Ethan Moore (Williamsport, Pa./Loyalsock) drove a double to right-center in the top of the first that scored two runs, putting LHU up, 2-0.

LHU led, 2-1 in the seventh when
Tyson Petersheim (New Holland, Pa./Garden Spot) drew a two-out, bases loaded walk to put The Haven up, 3-1.

Pfeiffer rallied in the late innings, however. The Falcons scored one run in the seventh to cut the LHU lead to, 3-2 and PU plated seven runs in the eighth, fueled by six singles to take the lead, 9-3.

Lock Haven scored twice in the ninth and The Haven brought the tying run to the plate with two outs, but were unable to complete the comeback.

Moore finished 3-for-5 with two doubles and two RBIs.

Ryan Henritzy (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North) and
Ryan Orgitano (South Williamsport, Pa./South Williamsport) each went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored.

Chad Speigle (Morrisdale, Pa./West Branch) started on the mound and threw five solid innings. Speigle scattered seven hits while allowing just one run. He struck out three in the no-decision.

Anthony Allende drove in three runs to lead Pfeiffer to the win.

The Bald Eagles are right back in action tomorrow (Tuesday, March 10) when The Haven closes out play at the Ripken Experience against Penn State Berks. First pitch is set for 3 p.m.
