#2 Lady Eagles soar past visiting Fighting Scots, 19-5

All-around Haven effort seals second PSAC win of the season

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The No. 2 Lock Haven University lacrosse team (4-0, 2-0 PSAC) downed visiting Edinboro University (4-1, 1-1 PSAC), 19-5 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) action today on Charlotte E. Smith Field.
 
A balanced attacked propelled Lock Haven University (4-0, 2-0 PSAC), as nine Lady Eagles netted goals in the dominating, 19-5 victory over Edinboro University (4-1, 1-1 PSAC).
 
After eight minutes of action, senior Rachel Ward (Indianapolis/Bishop Chatard) netted the first goal of the game to spark the Haven offense. Ward recorded five goals in the win, for a total of 25 goals thus far this season.
 
The Lady Eagles led Edinboro 9-2 at the break.
 
Lock Haven took control of the second half when Ward netted the first goal of the half in just 1:42 to lead, 10-2.
 
Edinboro battled back but the Lady Eagles would not relinquish the lead, as Lock Haven sealed a, 19-5 victory.
 
Kelly Hamilton (Warrington, Pa./Central Bucks South) and Redshirt-senior Jessica Pandolf (Holbrook, N.Y./Sachem North) recorded a sensational game, each netting a hat trick and combined for eight draw controls.
 
Jenna Dingler (Turnersville, N.J./Washington Township) and freshman Alex O'Herrick (Barto, Pa./Boyertown) were extraordinary in the midfield, adding four draw controls each. 
 
O'Herrick netted a pair of goals.
 
Shannon Bissnette (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Sutherland) directed the lethal Haven attack with a game-high eight assists and added one ground ball.
 
Freshmen Dana Laulis (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) and Hayley Killian (Ridley Park, Pa./Ridley Park) etched their names in the score sheet with a goal, respectively.
 
The Lock Haven defensive unit was flawless, recording 13-for-13 successful clear attempts and causing 14 turnovers. 
 
Chrissy Baffuto (Long Valley, N.J./West Morris Central) recorded two caused turnovers in the win.
 
Cydney Hrycko led Edinboro with two goals.
 
The Lady Eagles return to action on Saturday, March 28 when LHU travels to Seton Hill in PSAC action.
