EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – The Lock Haven University softball team bounced back from a game-one defeat and shutout host-East Stroudsburg 8-0 (6 innings) in game two, as LHU earned an important PSAC East road-split today.

East Stroudsburg (17-10, 10-6 PSAC East) won game one 5-2, but Lock Haven (10-18, 6-8 PSAC East) bounced back and rolled by the Warriors 8-0 in six innings in game two.

Yesterday, ESU swept LHU in Lock Haven.

Sarah Schwalm (Dauphin, Pa./Central Dauphin) led off the game with a home run and finished 3-for-3 at the plate, but her strong offensive outing wasn't enough to lead LHU by ESU in game one.

LHU's two game-one runs came off eight hits.

Rachel Mouillesseaux (Endicott, N.Y./Union Endicott) struck out six over six innings in the loss.

Jodi Weaknecht (Kutztown, Pa./Kutztown) was 2-for-3 with a home run, two runs scored and three RBIs.

Weaknecht's two-run homer was part of a five-run fourth for Lock Haven.

Kelsey Harris (Williamsport, Pa./Seton Hill Univ.) got the start in game two in right field and she exploded at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI-double in the fourth.

Michelle Holweger (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) and
McKenna Garlock (Three Springs, Pa./Southern Huntingdon) each racked up two hits in the win.

Pitcher
Jessie Probst (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) picked up the win after six strong innings of work. She allowed no walks, seven hits and struck out a pair.

Lock Haven hits the field again tomorrow (Wednesday, April 15) for a pair of PSAC East games at Bloomsburg (2:30 p.m.).
