#2 Lacrosse shuts down Shepherd for 14th straight win

Hamilton recorded seven goals; Wojt recorded three caused turnovers in the win

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Kelly Hamilton (Warrington, Pa./Central Bucks South) led all-scorers with seven goals as the No. 2 Lock Haven University lacrosse team (14-0) downed Shepherd University (9-5) on the road, 20-7 in non-conference action.
 
Lock Haven (14-0) has earned 26 consecutive regular season wins and remains undefeated this season as LHU downed Shepherd University (9-5) on the road, 20-7.
 
LHU took immediate control of the first half, leading the Rams, 17-3 at the break.
 
Kelly Hamilton (Warrington, Pa./Central Bucks South) and Jessica Pandolf (Holbrook, N.Y./Sachem North) were sensational recording six and three goals in the first half of play.
 
At the start of the second half, Lock Haven maintained possession as sophomore Shannon Bissnette (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Sutherland) extend the Haven lead to, 18-4 within the first two minutes.
 
LHU continued to drive to the net sealing a, 20-7 victory.
 
Hamilton led all-scorers with seven total goals and Pandolf added four.
 
Jill Murray (Unionville, Pa./Unionville), Rachel Ward (Indianapolis/Bishop Chatard), and Jenna Dingler (Turnersville, N.J./Washington Township) all added a pair of goals.
 
Pandolf and Alex O'Herrick (Barto, Pa./Boyertown) led Lock Haven on the draw with a combined eight draw controls.  Pandolf added four ground balls in the win.
 
Senior Taylor Klunk (Forest Hill, Md./Bel Air) directed the Haven attack with a trio of assists.
 
Melinda Wojt (Telford, Pa./Souderton) led the LHU defensive unit with three caused turnovers.
 
Goalkeeper Chrissy Baffuto (Long Valley, N.J./West Morris Central) recorded five saves.
 
Lock Haven recorded 17-for-23 successful clear attempts and earned 15 draw controls.
 
Erin Phelan led Shepherd with four goals and five draw controls.
 
The Lady Eagles are right back in action tomorrow (Wednesday, April 22) on the road in PSAC action against Kutztown University (4 p.m.).
