#2 Lady Eagles soar to, 16-2 victory over Golden Bears

Lock Haven claims share of the 2015 PSAC regular season title; travel to Slippery Rock Saturday (April 25) in last game of the regular season

KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Rachel Ward (Indianapolis/Bishop Chatard) led all-scorers in today's contest with four goals as the No. 2 Lock Haven University lacrosse team downed Kutztown University, 16-2 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) action.
 
Lock Haven (15-0, 11-0 PSAC) got goals from nine different players as LHU downed Kutztown University (1-14, 0-11 PSAC), 16-2 today in conference action.
 
With the win, LHU claims at least a share of the PSAC regular season title.  A win Saturday at Slippery Rock would give Lock Haven the outright title. 
 
The Lady Eagles were firing on all cylinders as LHU tallied 10 goals in the first 23 minutes of the game. 
 
KU recorded its lone goal of the half in the 24th minute to trail LHU, 10-1.
 
The Haven continued to drive to the net, holding a 12-1 advantage at the break.
 
At the sound of the whistle for the start of the second half LHU continued to dominate, as Hope Thomas (Carmel, Ind./Carmel) recorded a goal in the first minute of action.
 
The Golden Bears tallied a second goal of the game but Lock Haven proved to be too tough as LHU sealed a, 16-2 victory.
 
The Haven defensive unit was solid allowing only two goals and recording 11-for-15 succesful clear attempts.  Lock Haven caused eight turnovers and outdrew KU 15-to-5 on the draw.
 
Ward led LHU with a game-high four goals while Thomas, Jessica Pandolf (Holbrook, N.Y./Sachem North), and Katie Costanza (Denver, Pa./Cocalico) all notched a pair of goals in the win.
 
Pandolf and freshman Alex O'Herrick (Barto, Pa./Boyertown) combined for eight draw controls.
 
Shannon Bissnette (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Sutherland) and Jill Murray (Unionville, Pa./Unionville) directed the Haven attack with a combined six assists.
 
Lauren Huggins and Devan Davis led Kutztown with both goals of the game for the Golden Bears.
 
The Lady Eagles close out the 2015 regular season away on Saturday, April 25 when LHU travels to Slippery Rock in PSAC action.  Game time is set for 1 p.m.
