LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University softball team split a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East doubleheader today with visiting Kutztown University.
LHU won game one, 6-3, before Kutztown took game two, 2-1.
Lock Haven (8-12, 4-2 PSAC East) scored its six game-one runs on nine hits, including a pair of home runs, as The Haven slugged its way by the Golden Bears.
Kutztown (19-7, 7-3 PSAC East) got a strong pitching effort from Dominique Ficara and the Golden Bears rallied for a 2-1, game-two win, leaving Clinton County with the split in the first two games of a four-game season series.

Rachel Mouillesseaux (Endicott, N.Y./Union Endicott), and
Jodi Weaknecht (Kutztown, Pa./Kutztown) both hit home runs in the game on the way to the big win in game one.
Mouillesseaux, who went 3-0 last week for LHU in the pitcher's circle, picked up the win today after going the distance (7IP, 8H, 3R, 1BB & 4K). She was also 2-for-3 at the plate.
McKenna Garlock (Three Springs, Pa./Huntingdon) was 2-for-3 with four RBIs.
Game 2 Recap: L, 2-1 Kutztown rallied for a run in the top of the sixth and seventh and escaped with a narrow 2-1 victory.
LHU went up 1-0 when Garlock drove in a run in the third as her hot-hitting streak continued.
She was 2-for-3 at the plate in game two and 4-for-6 on the day with five total RBIs.
LHU is scheduled to host East Stroudsburg tomorrow (Tuesday, April 7) at 2:30 p.m.
