LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University baseball team dropped both games of a doubleheader today to Gannon University in mid-week PSAC crossover action at Foundation Field.

Lock Haven (8-16) was edged in game one, 6-5 by Gannon (12-20) and the Golden Knights took game two, 8-2.

Gannon jumped out to an early, 3-0 lead in the first inning of game one and the Bald Eagles found themselves trailing, 4-0 in the second.

LHU got on the board in the bottom of the inning when
Pierce Ranck (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville) hit an RBI single to right field.
Â
Mike Agosto (Bushkill, Pa./Northampton C.C.) followed Ranck with a two-RBI single through the right side that cut Gannon's lead to, 4-3.

Gannon tacked on runs in the third and the fifth and stretched its lead to, 6-3.

After a sac fly by Jamie Eshelman (Lewisberry, Pa./Red Land) in the bottom of the fifth made it, 6-4,
Justin Sleigh (DuBois, Pa./DuBois) drove home the game's final run with an RBI single to left field.

Agosto finished 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run scored.
Â
Ranck went 2-for-3 and scored two runs.

Aaron Cox led Gannon, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI.

Gannon used a five run third inning to take control of game two.

Kyle Cox broke the inning open with a grand slam to left field.

Lock Haven trailed, 8-0 heading to the final two innings, where the Bald Eagles scored its two runs.

Sleigh went 3-for-4 with an RBI to lead LHU at the plate.

Garret Shnyder (Montgomery, Pa./Montgomery) was 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Ramiro Martinez (Greeley, Col./Iowa Western C.C.) collected his first hit as Bald Eagle, a sixth inning double. Martinez finished 1-for-2 with a run scored.

The Bald Eagles are scheduled to return to action Friday and Saturday (April 10 & 11) when LHU battles PSAC Eastern Division foe West Chester in a four game series. The Bald Eagles travel to West Chester on Friday before hosting the Rams on Saturday at Foundation Field.
