HAMILTON, N.Y. – The Lock Haven University field hockey team (5-0) remained perfect in 2015 and improved to 5-0 with a 3-1 victory today at Colgate (0-5) in non-conference action.
The Bald Eagles dominated host-Colgate from the opening whistle and outshot the Raiders 33-5.
Rachel Valentine's (Souderton, Pa./Souderton) team-leading fourth goal of the season put LHU up 1-0 in the 31
st minute and
Alyscia Smith (Newport, Pa./Newport) added two second-half tallies.
Valentine's goal came off a pass from
Jenna Felice (Endicott, N.Y./Maine Endwell).
Smith's first of two goals put The Haven up 2-0 and she added an important insurance goal in the 57
th minute.
LHU heads to Siena tomorrow (Sunday, September 13) for a 12 p.m. start.
