LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University field hockey team (6-1, 0-1 A-10) fell to visiting Richmond (3-4, 1-0 A-10) 1-0 today in the Atlantic 10 Conference (A-10) opener for both teams.
The loss was Lock Haven's first of the year after starting the season on a six-game win streak. It marked the first time LHU was 6-0 to start a season since 2004.

Noelle Kephart (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) was a huge second-half spark and made an immediate impact on the game. She finished with three shots including two that forced big saves from the Richmond keeper.
Rachel Valentine (Souderton, Pa./Souderton), Lock Haven's leading scorer on the year nearly tied the game in the final seconds, but her shot was turned wide by Spider goalkeeper Emily Braunewell.
LHU will be right back at it tomorrow (Saturday, Sept. 19) at 2 p.m. when the Bald Eagles host Georgetown in non-conference action.
