LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Despite two goals from leading scorer
Rachel Valentine (Souderton, Pa./Souderton), the Lock Haven University field hockey team (7-2, 0-2 A-10) was edged 3-2 in double-overtime today on the road at Saint Joseph's (3-5, 1-1 A-10) in Atlantic 10 Conference (A-10) action.
Valentine opened the scoring just 7:44 into the game when she knocked home a
Tamia Roach (Petit Valley, Trinidad and Tobago/St. Joseph's Convent Port-of-Spain) pass.
Anna Willocks, who recorded a hat trick for Saint Joseph's scored her first of three goals in the 11
th minute to tie the match at 1-1.
Valentine was at it again for Lock Haven and put the Bald Eagles back on top at 2-1 in the 24
th minute when she knocked home a loose ball.
With 3:57 left in the game, the Hawks tied it at 2-2 and sent the contest into overtime.
Willocks capped her hat trick in the 96
th minute, giving Saint Joseph's the win.

Maddie Wagenfeld (Ambler, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) made five saves.
LHU returns to action on Friday, September 25 at 3 p.m. at La Salle (A-10).
