LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University men's soccer team (0-1) dropped a hard-fought 1-0 battle to visiting Le Moyne (1-0) today (Thursday, September 3) in the Bald Eagles 2015 season-opener.
The loss spoiled LHU's first game at its new field – The Foundation Field Soccer Complex.
After a lengthy lightning delay in the first half, the two teams were deadlocked at 0-0 at halftime.
Le Moyne scored the only goal of the match in the 85th minute of play when Jack Ball headed home a Cal Filtch throw in.
Despite the loss,
Jacob Oldaker (Elliottsburg, Pa./West Perry) played well for The Haven and finished with four shots.
Jonathan Howitt (Painted Post, N.Y./Corning-Painted Post East) made three saves.
Lock Haven returns to action on Saturday, September 5 at 3 p.m. when the Bald Eagles host Saint Thomas Aquinas.
