KENT, Ohio – The Lock Haven University field hockey team (9-6) got a late-game goal from
April Stafford (Bernville, Pa./Hamburg), but it wasn't enough to cap the rally as the Bald Eagles fell to Kent State (11-6), 2-1 on the road in non-conference action.
Kent State led 1-0 at halftime and went up 2-0 in the 50
th minute.
Stafford got the rally going and put the Bald Eagles on the board in the 61
st minute when she knocked home an
Alyscia Smith (Newport, Pa./Newport) pass.
LHU goalkeeper
Paige Stuppy (Jonestown, Pa./Northern Lebanon) turned in another strong effort and finished with eight saves.
LHU is right back in action tomorrow (Sunday, October 23) when the Bald Eagles head to local-rival Bucknell for the 47
th meeting between the two central, Pennsylvania field hockey powers.
