Game Recap: Field Hockey |

Field Hockey edged 2-1 at Kent State

The Bald Eagles rallied for a late-goal, but LHU was edged 2-1 by host Kent State.

KENT, Ohio – The Lock Haven University field hockey team (9-6) got a late-game goal from April Stafford (Bernville, Pa./Hamburg), but it wasn't enough to cap the rally as the Bald Eagles fell to Kent State (11-6), 2-1 on the road in non-conference action.

Kent State led 1-0 at halftime and went up 2-0 in the 50th minute.

Stafford got the rally going and put the Bald Eagles on the board in the 61st minute when she knocked home an Alyscia Smith (Newport, Pa./Newport) pass.

LHU goalkeeper Paige Stuppy (Jonestown, Pa./Northern Lebanon) turned in another strong effort and finished with eight saves.

LHU is right back in action tomorrow (Sunday, October 23) when the Bald Eagles head to local-rival Bucknell for the 47th meeting between the two central, Pennsylvania field hockey powers.
