Game Recap: Field Hockey |

LHU drops double-OT clash at Bucknell, 1-0

The LHU field hockey team fell to host Bucknell 1-0 in double-overtime despite a brilliant effort by Haven goalkeeper Paige Stuppy.

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Goalkeeper Paige Stuppy (Jonestown, Pa./Northern Lebanon) was brilliant and finished with 12 saves, but it wasn't enough as the Lock Haven University field hockey team (9-7) was edged 1-0 in double overtime by host Bucknell University (8-8).

Bucknell tallied the game's only goal in the 97th minute when Katie Mannino scored.

After 70 minutes of regulation, Lock Haven and Bucknell remained scoreless in the two teams' 47th all-time meeting.

The hosts outshot LHU, 16-7 and held an 11-4 advantage in penalty corners.

Lydia George (Carlisle, Pa./Big Spring) paced the attack with two shots on goal, but she just couldn't get one past the Bison goalkeeper.

LHU will return to action on Friday, October 28 in Atlantic 10 Conference (A-10) action at Massachusetts (2 p.m.). It marks LHU's final A-10 game of the regular season. The Bald Eagles will cap the 2016 regular season at Holy Cross on Sunday, October 29 (3:05 p.m.).
