LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University women's soccer team (3-7, 2-7 PSAC) was edged 2-1 in a tight Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) match at home today by Millersville University (3-7, 3-7 PSAC), 2-1.
The visitors took a 1-0 lead in the 15
th minute on a goal by Kay Liebl, but Lock Haven got back into the game quickly.
In the 21
st minute,
Sarah Bonelli (Apollo, Pa./Apollo-Ridge) collected a
Erika Landis (Watsontown, Pa./Warrior Run) pass and chipped the Marauder goalkeeper to the tie the match at 1-1.
The first-half scoring wasn't done quite yet and Millersville regained the lead in the 38
th minute when Alexandrea Powell converted from the penalty spot. The goal proved to be the difference.
LHU outshot Millersville 15-6 and had a chance to tie the match as final seconds ticked away. With less than a minute to play
Marah Foltz (Mountville, Pa./Hempfield) cut into the box and drilled a low shot at the near post, which forced a sensational save by Millersville goalkeeper Samantha Wolfe.

Bree Hilty (Lock Haven, Pa./Central Mountain) made three saves.
Janelle Swartz (Mifflintown, Pa./Juniata) was all over the field for the Bald Eagles today and turned in an all-around fine effort. Defensively,
Jordan Shoff (York, Pa./York Suburban) played well too for Lock Haven.
