LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University women's basketball team (2-3) started quick and never looked back in downing Penn State DuBois (4-2), 78-32.
The Bald Eagles were powered by
Lysa Mealing's (Altoona, Pa./Altoona) double-double and a strong game from
Maimuna Kenneh (Coatesville, Pa./Collegium Charter).
Mealing finished with 12 points and 10 rebounds, while Kenneh nearly added a double-double with nine points and a game-high 15 rebounds.
Ayanda McGill-Jefferson (Lancaster, Pa./J.P. McCaskey) also scored in double-figures finishing with 14 points.
Kayla Henderson (Philadelphia/Lackawanna College) added 10 points, while
Madison McHale (New Castle, Pa./Neshannock) added nine, as did
Rileigh Devine (Etters, Pa./Red Land) to round out a solid scoring night for Lock Haven.
Jalyn Shelton-Burleigh (State College, Pa./State College) was solid as well and netted eight points to go along with eight rebounds.
Annie Dombrowski (Altoona, Pa./Altoona) finished with 10 rebounds.
Lock Haven led 37-13 at halftime after shooting 54 percent. Both Mealing and McGill-Jefferson scored eight points apiece in the first half.
For the game, LHU shot 46 percent, scored 15 points off turnovers and got 35 points off the bench.
