JOHNSTOWN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University men's basketball team (5-4, 1-4 PSAC) comeback bid fell short in a 90-79 loss at the University of Pitt-Johnstown (7-4, 2-3 PSAC).
Craig Slade (Philadelphia/Constitution) did all he could to spark the Bald Eagles comeback, finishing the game with 18 points and 11 rebounds.
Amir Hinton (Philadephia/Abington) led the LHU offense with 23 points and also added seven steals.
The Bald Eagles trailed by 16 points with 12:11 left in the second half when Hinton's slam-dunk gave LHU the spark they needed. The Haven cut the UPJ lead to just one point with 4:26 to go, but the Mountain Cats pulled away and secured the victory.
Tarojae Brake (Coatesville, Pa./Octorara) and
Jihad Barnes (Philadelphia/Philadelphia Electric Charter) each finished in double-digits, posting 14 and 11 points, respectively.
The Bald Eagles will return to action when they host Mercyhurst on Friday December, 30 (4 p.m.).
