LAKEWOOD, N.J. – The Lock Haven University women's basketball team (5-4) picked up its fourth win the last five games, downing host Georgian Court (2-9) 66-62 in a non-conference contest.
The trio of
Ayanda McGill-Jefferson (Lancaster, Pa./J.P. McCaskey),
Jalyn Shelton-Burleigh (State College, Pa./State College) and
Lysa Mealing (Altoona, Pa./Altoona) led the way for Lock Haven.
The Bald Eagles also knocked down five 3-pointers and 16 points from the bench helped LHU hold off a late Georgian Court charge.
McGill-Jefferson scored 16 points and added eight rebounds, while Shelton-Burleigh netted 15 points to go along with nine rebounds.
Mealing pulled down a solid 16 rebounds. She also chipped in with seven points.
The Bald Eagles will now enjoy a short break for the holiday season before returning to action on Friday, December 30 at 2 p.m. when they host Mercyhurst in conference action. LHU is 2-3 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) action.
