LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – After 12 days off for the mid-year and holiday break, the Lock Haven University women's basketball team (5-5, 2-4 PSAC) fell at home against a very tough Mercyhurst University team (10-1, 5-0 PSAC) by a score of 66-47.
Lysa Mealing (Altoona, Pa./Altoona) was once again grabbing every rebound she was near securing a game-high 13.
The Bald Eagles were led on offense by the trio of
Becca Reilly (Camp Hill, Pa./Cedar Cliff),
Madison McHale (New Castle, Pa./Neshannock) and
Rileigh Devine (Etters, Pa./Red Land) who scored 10, eight, and seven points respectively.
Mercyhurst, who is receiving votes in various national media polls, has now won six straight.
The Bald Eagles returned to the court today for the first time since December 18, a 66-62 win at Georgian Court. LHU entered today's game winners of two straight and four of its last five games.
LHU will open the 2017 portion of its schedule on Tuesday, January 3 at 5:30 p.m. when the Bald Eagles travel to East Stroudsburg for PSAC Eastern Division action.
