LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University softball team (15-7) rolled to its seventh straight win today, as the Bald Eagles swept a doubleheader from East Stroudsburg University (8-4) in the 2016 home opener for LHU.

LHU took game one 7-2 and the Bald Eagles won game two 8-0 (5 inn.).

LHU's seven runs came on eight hits in game one.

Leading the way for Lock Haven was
Jodi Weaknecht (Kutztown, Pa./Kutztown) who went 1-for-3 with a double and three RBI.
Â
Jessica Strouse (Beech Creek, Pa./Central Mountain) was 2-for-3 and scored three runs in the game.
Â
Faith Ceely (Troy, Pa./Troy) also went 2-for-3 at the plate for The Haven.

Bekah Slattery (Douglassville,Pa./Daniel Boone) was solid on the mound on the way to her eighth win of the season. She pitched all seven innings and allowed just three hits while striking out nine.

Lock Haven rolled to the 8-0 win in just five innings in game two.

Six different Bald Eagles had hits in the game, led by
Rachel Mouillesseaux (Endicott, N.Y./Union Endicott), who went 2-for-3 with a homerun. Mouillesseaux opened the scoring in the second inning when she smashed a solo shot to left field.

Michelle Holweger (Landsdale, Pa./North Penn) displayed her power in the third inning when she crushed a grand slam to left field that gave The Haven a 5-0 lead.

Weaknecht,
Paige Stuppy (Jonestown, Pa./Northern Lebanon) and
McKenna Garlock (Three Springs, Pa./Southern Huntingdon) each drove in RBIs in the win.

Mouillesseaux got the start on the mound as well and threw all five innings to pick up her seventh win of the year. She allowed three hits and struck out three.

Lock Haven returns to action tomorrow when the Bald Eagles host Slippery Rock University in non-conference doubleheader action at Lawrence Field. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
