EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – The No. 6 Lock Haven University lacrosse team (8-1, 4-1 PSAC) dropped its first game of the 2016 season, as the Bald Eagles were edged 8-7 on the road at East Stroudsburg in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) action.
Rachel Engler (Perkiomenville, Pa./Rutgers) and
Ashley Gochenaur (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) each scored twice for The Haven.
Dana Laulis (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley),
Alex O'Herrick (Barto, Pa./Boyertown) and
Hayley Kilian (Ridley Park, Pa./Ridley Park) also netted goals for LHU. Laulis and O'Herrick both dished out one assist.
Kelly Close (Kennett Square, Pa./Unionville) was tremendous on defense for Lock Haven and finished with three caused turnovers, and three ground balls.

Hannah Houde (Jackson, N.J./Slippery Rock Univ.) made seven saves.
Lock Haven entered the game on a 37-game regular season win streak and hadn't lost a regular season game since March 23, 2014.
The Warriors (9-1, 4-1 PSAC) received votes in this week's National Poll and were led today by Lauren Nunes, who had five goals and two assists.
The Bald Eagles led 3-2 at halftime after a tightly-contested opening 30 minutes of play. Engler and Gochenaur scored in the first for LHU.
ESU scored six second-half goals and the Warriors held on for the victory.
Lock Haven will host No. 20 IUP on Saturday, April 2 at 1 p.m.
