GREENSBURG, Pa. – The Lock Haven University baseball team (13-10) dropped both games of a midweek non-conference doubleheader at Seton Hill University (19-8) today. Seton Hill won game one, 6-4 and took game two, 4-3 in nine innings.
The Griffins scored six runs on 10 hits in the game-one victory today.
Trailing 6-2, the Bald Eagles rallied for two runs in the seventh, but the comeback bid fell short.
Sam Kysor (Port Allegany, Pa./USC Upstate) was 2 for 4 with a RBI and
Nick Stotler (Pittsburgh/Coker College) went 2 for 3.
Jimmy Webb (Williamsport, Pa./Wake Forest) was 2 for 3 with a run scored.
Brett Morrison (Duncannon, Pa./Susquenita) took the loss after four innings of work. He struck out four.
In game two, the scheduled seven innings were not enough as the two teams headed to extra innings tied 2-2.
Seton Hill's Adam Ferita hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth to give the hosts the victory.
Both LHU and Seton Hill exchanged runs in the eighth.
Despite the loss, the Bald Eagles racked up 11 hits.
Webb had another strong outing and was 2 for 3 at the plate.
Ethan Moore (Williamsport, Pa./Loyalsock) went 2 for 5 with a run scored and a RBI, and Stotler had two more hits.
Tyson Petersheim (New Holland, Pa./Garden Spot) was 2 for 4 with a run scored and a RBI.
The Bald Eagles will now turn their focus to a four-game Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division series with Bloomsburg University this weekend. Lock Haven will host the Huskies on Friday, April 1 at 1 p.m. before traveling to Bloomsburg Saturday.
