LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University baseball team (13-12, 5-5 PSAC East) dropped both games of a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference doubleheader against rival Bloomsburg University (16-10, 5-5 PSAC East) today. Bloomsburg won game one, 9-5 and took game two, 4-2.

The Huskies started the scoring early, with two runs on three hits (all doubles) and took a 2-0 lead in the first inning.

Bloomsburg tacked on two more runs in the second inning to take an early 4-0 lead, but
Nick Stotler (Pittsburgh/Coker College) got the Bald Eagles on the board with a solo home run to left-field.

Bloomsburg stretched the lead to eight runs after a five run fourth inning that featured two homeruns.

The Bald Eagles would not go down without a fight, as
Jamie Eshleman (Lewisberry, Pa./Red Land) doubled home
Evan McFarland (Cottonwood, Ariz./Gateway Community College) in the fourth inning.

Matt Lahn (Georgetown, ONT./Erie Community College) got things started in the bottom half of the sixth inning with a single to right-field, setting the stage for
Ethan Moore (Williamsport, Pa./Loyalsock) to hit his third home run of the season to left-centerfield. McFarland stayed hot in game one hitting a solo homer to left-field.

The Bald Eagles comeback effort in game one fell short, and the Huskies took the first game, 9-5.
Parker Watson (Philipsburg, Pa/Philipsburg-Osceola) moved to 2-3 on the season with the loss.

The Huskies broke open the scoring in game two with a four-run fifth inning.

LHU once again would not go away quietly. The Bald Eagles made the score 4-2 with two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. The inning featured three hits from
Justin Sleigh (DuBois, Pa./DuBois), Stotler, and McFarland. Sleigh scored from third on a wild pitch that also advanced Stotler to third. McFarland's single and RBI cut the Huskies lead in half.

Mike Anthony went the distance for the Bald Eagles, giving up seven hits and striking out three. With the loss, Anthony's record falls to 4-1.

The Bald Eagles will travel tomorrow (Saturday, April 2) to Bloomsburg to wrap up the four-game series with the Huskies.
