WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Lock Haven University baseball team (4-4) dropped a road matchup with Winston-Salem State University (9-11) today in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Lock Haven led by one, 8-7 through seven innings of play, but WSSU evened the score in the bottom of the eighth and would go on to bring the winning run home in the bottom of the ninth for the win.

LHU's eight runs came off of seven hits.

Leading the way was
Evan McFarland (Cottonwood, Ariz./Gateway Community College), who went 2-for-4 with an RBI and three runs scored.

Tyson Petersheim (New Holland, Pa./Garden Spot) went 1-for-5 with a double and two RBIs in the game.
Â
Jamie Eshleman (Lewisberry, Pa./Red Land) also went 2-for-5 at the plate.

LHU jumped out to an early 4-0 lead in the top of the first and the Bald Eagles led 6-0 through 2.5 innings.

Winston-Salem answered, however, with a four-run third inning and the Rams continued to chip away at the Bald Eagle lead.

Brett Morrison (Duncannon, Pa./Susquenita) started on the mound and struck out two in 3.2 innings.

LHU is right back in action tomorrow when the Bald Eagles continue their spring break trip at Catawba College. First pitch of tomorrow's single, nine-inning game is set for 6 p.m.
