SALISBURY, N.C. – The Lock Haven University baseball team (4-5) fell on the road tonight to Catawba College (11-8) in Salisbury, North Carolina.

Lock Haven put together a huge second inning, as the Bald Eagles plated seven runs to take an early 7-0 lead.

The seven runs were all the Bald Eagles could get, however, as The Haven bats were held scoreless for the rest of the game.

The Indians answered with five runs in the second inning, three runs in the third and five more runs in the fourth to take control of the game on their way to a 14-7 win.

LHU's seven-run second inning was highlighted by a big blast off the bat of
Justin Sleigh (DuBois, Pa./DuBois). Sleigh connected for a grand slam, his third homer of the season.

Hunter Szaflarski (Greencastle, Pa./Hagerstown Community College) went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.

Nick Stotler (Pittsburgh/Coker College) led the Bald Eagles with three hits, going 3-for-4 with a double.

LHU has now scored a minimum of five runs in all nine games so far this season.

Lock Haven is off tomorrow, but will be gearing up for the opening series of conference play. LHU takes on PSAC East rival Kutztown in a four game series on Friday and Saturday in Wilson, North Carolina. First pitch of Friday's doubleheader is scheduled for 12 p.m.
