PUEBLO, Colo. – The No. 8 Lock Haven University lacrosse team (2-0) exploded for 12 second-half goals on the way to a dominating 19-9 victory at Colorado State Pueblo (1-2).
Rachel Engler (Perkiomenville, Pa./Rutgers) led the potent attack with her second straight five-goal effort as the Bald Eagles opened a three-game swing in Colorado.
The Bald Eagles led 7-5 at halftime, but dominated the second half of play.
Shannon Bissnette (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Sutherland) had a monster outing. She dished out five assists and was one four players to net three-plus goals, finishing with a hat trick.
Dana Laulis (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) and
Hope Thomas (Carmel, Ind./Carmel) both netted three goals for LHU, while
Hayley Kilian (Ridley Park, Pa./Ridley Park) added five assists and a pair of goals.
Jenna Dingler (Turnersville, N.J./Washington Township) scored twice and added seven draw controls, four ground balls, and two caused turnovers.
Kelly Close (Kennett Square, Pa./Unionville) turned a strong effort on the defensive side.
The Bald Eagles will return to action on Friday, March 11 at Fort Lewis (2 p.m.) and LHU rounds out its trip to Colorado on Sunday, March 13 at No. 18 Regis (1 p.m.).
