#8 Lacrosse moves to 3-0, drops Fort Lewis 14-6

#8 Bald Eagles’ offense continues to roll as Haven moves to 3-0 with win over nationally-ranked Fort Lewis.

DENVER – The No. 8 Lock Haven University lacrosse team (3-0) moved to 3-0 with another dominating victory today as the Bald Eagles rolled by Fort Lewis (3-2) 14-6 in Denver.

Fort Lewis received votes in this week's Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches' Association (IWLCA) Division II poll, but Lock Haven's potent attack proved too strong once again.

Through the first three games of the 2016 season, LHU is outscoring opponents 47-19.

Rachel Engler (Perkiomenville, Pa./Rutgers) and Shannon Bissnette (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Sutherland) continue to spark the offense.

For the third straight game Engler netted five goals and Bissnette had four assists.

Jenna Dingler (Turnersville, N.J./Washington Township) had three goals and three caused turnovers.

Hope Thomas (Carmel, Ind./Carmel) scored twice and added five ground balls, while Hayley Kilian (Ridley Park, Pa./Ridley Park) added two goals and an assist.

The Bald Eagles led 8-4 at halftime and goalie Hannah Houde (Jackson, N.J./Slippery Rock Univ.) finished with eight saves.

Lock Haven will wrap up its trip to Colorado on Sunday, March 13 with a 1 p.m. game at No. 18 Regis.
