WEST CHESTER, Pa. - The Lock Haven University baseball team (18-24, 6-16 PSAC East) dropped both games of a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East doubleheader at West Chester University (25-10, 15-7 PSAC East) today as the Golden Rams won 12-2 and 8-7.
West Chester scored its 12 game-one runs on 17 hits.
Leading the way for LHU in game one was
Jimmy Webb (Williamsport, Pa./Wake Forest), who was 2 for 3 with a run scored.
Game two proved to be a back and forth battle, but ultimately West Chester found a way to win.
The Bald Eagles plated five runs in the top of the fourth and led 5-2.
LHU and WCU were tied 6-6 after six, but again Lock Haven rallied and took the lead in the seventh, thanks to a
Nick Stotler (Pittsburgh/Coker College) RBI-double, which put the Bald Eagles up 7-6.
The Golden Rams however drew up some magic of their own and scored two in the bottom of the seventh for the win.
Mike Anthony (Audubon, Pa./North Hampton C.C.) was a tough-luck loser after a strong 5 1/3 innings pitched. She struck out five and scattered four hits.
Matt Lahn (Georgetown, ONT./Erie C.C.) was 3 for 3 with two RBIs and a run scored. Stotler had two hits.
Lock Haven and West Chester will do it again tomorrow (Sunday, April 24) in The Haven. Game one first pitch of the doubleheader is set for 1 p.m. at Foundation Field.
