LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Despite outshooting La Salle University (3-3, 1-0 A-10) 10-5 and a 9-3 advantage in penalty corners, the Lock Haven University field hockey team (3-2, 0-1 A-10) dropped its Atlantic 10 Conference (A-10) opener to the Explorers, 1-0.
La Salle scored the only goal of the match in the 38th minute when Devin Muracco took a hard shot from a tough angle that trickled past LHU goalkeeper
Paige Stuppy (Jonestown, Pa./Northern Lebanon).
Stuppy finished with a pair of saves.
Tamia Roach (Petit Valley, Trinidad and Tabogo) and
Colleen McCabe (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./William Tennent) registered three shots apiece.
LHU returns to action on Sunday (September 18) at 2 p.m. when the Bald Eagles host Cornell.
