RICHMOND, Va. – Lydia George (Carlisle, Pa./Big Spring)) and
Michele Enck (Lancaster, Pa./Penn Manor) both scored and the Lock Haven University field hockey team (4-3, 1-1 A-10) picked up its first Atlantic 10 Conference victory of the season with a 2-1 win at Virginia Commonwealth University (3-4, 1-1 A-10).
The Bald Eagles dominated VCU, outshooting the hosts 18-9.
Lock Haven also got a solid effort from goalkeeper
Paige Stuppy (Jonestown, Pa./Northern Lebanon), who made two fine stops.
George put LHU up 1-0 after she finished a breakaway attempt 18 minutes into the match.
Enck took a pass from George in the 22
nd minute and fired the ball home for a 2-0 lead.
VCU got one back minutes later to make 2-1 as all three goals in today's match came in a four-minute span.
The Bald Eagles take on Richmond University on Sunday, September 25 at 12 p.m. in A-10 action.
