LAKEWOOD, N.J. – The Lock Haven University men's soccer team (4-4-1) was edged 1-0 at Georgian Court (5-3) today in a physical non-conference road match.
The hosts scored the only goal of the match in the 42
nd minute when Javel Dawkins knocked home a rebound in front of the net.
GCU held a 16-7 advantage in shots and put nine on target. The two teams combined for 23 fouls in what proved to be a physical outing.
LHU goalkeeper
Troy Teresak (Pompton Plains, N.J./DePaul Catholic) was solid and finished with eight saves.
Troy Amspacher (Lancaster, Pa./Conestoga Valley) and
Zach Hommey (Woodsboro, Md./Walkersville) did all they could to spark the attack, combining for four shots.
Alec Mapoy (Brick, N.J./Monsignor Donovan) turned in another workmanlike effort as well for the Bald Eagles.
LHU returns to action on Saturday, October 1 at 2 p.m. at Seton Hill.
