LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University women's soccer team (1-2) defeated Ohio Valley (0-2) 4-0 in today's non-conference action.
The win marks the first of the season for Lock Haven and gives first-year head coach
Kathy Brown her first win at The Haven.
The first goal for LHU came early (7') when
Sarah Bonelli (Apollo, Pa./Apollo-Ridge) sent in a corner that
Janelle Swartz (Mifflintown, Pa./Juniata) headed toward
Jordan Shoff (York,Pa./York Suburban), who finished it by putting it far post.
Hayleigh Swam (Westminister, Md./Winters Mill) made it 2-0 in the 29
th minute when she knocked in a loose ball after the OVU goalkeeper misplayed it.
The second half proved to be a back-and-forth battle early before Lock Haven got back on the scoresheet.
Lock Haven extended the lead to 3-0 when
Alexa Ream (Jersey Shore, Pa./Jersey Shore) stepped up to take a penalty kick in the 77
th minute and put it past the goalie.
Marah Foltz (Mountville, Pa./Hempfield) netted LHU's fourth tally of the match and put the game away when she caught the goalie out of position and sent a 24-yard shot into the net with seconds left.

Bree Hilty (Lock Haven, Pa./Central Mountain) was called upon to make just one save and she did so on the way to her first career win and shutout.
The start of the 2016 season has been busy for the Bald Eagles as today marked their third game in five days.
LHU is set to take on Kutztown University on the road on Wednesday, September 7 at 3 p.m.
