LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Despite a strong effort, the Lock Haven University men's basketball team (8-7, 4-7 PSAC) fell to No. 8 Shippensburg University (15-0, 11-0 PSAC), 86-70 today in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division action.
With the win, the Raiders remained undefeated. LHU entered today's game on a two-game win streak and the Bald Eagles had won three of their last five.
Amir Hinton (Philadelphia/Abington) led Lock Haven with 18 points and 12 rebounds. He was one of four players who scored in double-figures for The Haven.
Ra'eese Hunt (Upper Marlboro, Md./Riverdale Baptist) and
Craig Slade (Philadelphia/Constitution) scored 12 points apiece. Slade added seven rebounds.
Jihad Barnes (Philadelphia/Philadelphia Electric Charter) netted 11 points and
Cole Renninger (Lock Haven, Pa./Central Mountain) added eight points.
Shippensburg led by one at the break, 36-35.
The Raiders took control in the second half and were led by Dustin Sleva, who netted a game-high 27 points.
LHU heads to local-rival Mansfield University on Wednesday, January 18 for a 7:30 p.m. tip.
